I am thrilled to announce that our debut recording “Out of the Nest” is finally here! This is my first recording featuring the nyckelharpa, and our first recording as the duo The Spruce Larks. Both of our instruments are made predominantly of spruce, and these instruments really sing, so I thought The Spruce Larks was a fitting name for us.

Jude Pelley and I have been working together as a duo since 2018 and now we have an album of original, trad Swedish, solo Bach and a few other well known tunes. In the summer of 2020 we performed an online show for Musique Royale, and people liked it so much, they advised us to record that program, so we did!

In the Mist

Featuring Kirsty Money and Alex Kehler

Along with a fellow Canadian nyckelharpa player, Alex Kehler, we recorded this EP remotely during the 2020 confinement. It features my own composition, as well as an arrangement of a Turlogh O’Carolan piece penned by Alex, Nova Scotia native residing in Sherbrooke Quebec.
